The Essence of transition

5/17/2018

Transitions are really turning points in our life.
They are thresholds, and, how we cross them defines how competent we behave in the next chapter which lies before us.

Transitions mark moments, weeks or even months in our linear life experience in which the tides turn, we feel that change is coming upon us and we know that we are about to experience an opening.
An opening into a big void space.

Often it is quite scary.

In fact, there is nothing scarier than an unknown space opening up in front of us, leaving us feeling small, not in control. Vulnerable in the best case, completely paralyzed in the worst case.
To be quite honest, many of us prefer to stay in denial until it hits, and then it usually hits hard and we are unprepared.

In the old days, the days which in school we were taught as being uncivilized, barbaric and wild, the days of paganism and indigenous tribal living, people were connected to nature, to Source and the cycles of life.
Before Patriarchy as we know it, took over in most places in the world, humans lived in Oneness and had a deep connection to life and all its facets, one that is so far from our current experience, that we must set off to find it again.
There is an important link to our feminine expression in the world.
Our Intuition is our torch, left to guide us at this point in time, but for the Intuition to get sharp, we need to go through the fire, burning the pain held in our cells.

Nothing in existence is separate. Everything is connected. The ancient ones knew this, and they knew also when those transitional turning points were to occur, and how to harness the energies, which were being released or accumulated in such powerful moments, so as to make the most of it.

So the elders took the younger ones under their wings, the grandmothers their granddaughters, the fathers their sons, the sisters their brothers and vice versa, and led them through those thresholds with grace and wisdom, holding a strong faith that they will come out the other side. Wiser, stronger and ready for the next step of their journey through life.

They called it Rites of Passage.

The conscious and meaningful passing from one stage of life to the next under skillful and loving guidance, which had the potential to be an exhilarating experience but also carried a certain risk to be a traumatizing one, like every borderline experience.
When going through these intense times, proper guidance is crucial.

In a traumatizing experience, we numb ourselves and cut ourselves off the overwhelming feelings in an attempt not to be consumed by them. In a guided borderline experience, we are encouraged to grow and blossom into our next stage, so as to unfold to our maximum potential and at the same time, we are learning the skills needed to keep going deeper into the wisdom of what is to come.

We have collectively forgotten about those rites. Or rather, they were mostly taken from us, through the destructive power of hundreds of years of inquisition, reckless conquering of foreign lands and the oppression of the tribal people and their rituals. We are a couple of thousand years into this destruction, trying to pick up the pieces.
.
And so.
Here we are. Deprived of our true roots,
We go about our lives in a linear fashion, counting the numbers since we were born and hold ourselves in the captivity of linear time, when in reality our lives are spirals of learning and growth. Creative experiencing of the pleasures and pain within the Cycles of Becoming, Being, Decomposing and Resting.

We need to re-learn what was long forgotten, so that we gain the power and wisdom of being born and dying again as the ultimate transitions entering and exiting this realm.
What we can take along in the end has a lot to do with how genuine we engage in the smaller and bigger transitions, happening throughout our life.

Exploring the nature of Transition and Healing those deep wounds in society, human hearts and Mother Earth, is my Karma. I have not chosen it, it has chosen me.
